The 2nd training on bioethics was held last week from 5th to 8th August at the Paediatric Training Centre within the College of Health Sciences.

The training was organised by the Partnership in Innovative Medical Education in Kenya (PRIME-K). The training was under the AIM 4 of the Partnership which is led by Prof. Machoki. The partnership has 4 AIMS all with different leads with the PI being Prof. Kiarie.

In attendance were Drs Bururia and Mugendi from the DOPPP.

The training was meant to build capacity in the area of Bioethics. This will enable the formation and accreditation of ethical review boards from various academic and research organisations within the country. These bodies will be expected to review all proposals submitted to them for research and provide meaningful feedback and guidance to potential researchers.

Participants were awarded with individual certificates at the closing ceremony which was graced by Prof Omwandho, Prof Machoki and Prof Guantai.
